Dial-a-Ride
Ionia Dial-A-Ride is a public transportation service. We provide demand response transportation for community events, education, employment, enhanced mobility for independent living, recreation, retail, and services.

Downtown Development Authority (DDA)
Downtown Ionia retains much of its historical commercial architecture with many buildings dating back to the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Economic development efforts in the City are primarily coordinated by the Ionia County Economic Alliance (ICEA) of which the City is a contributing member.

Public Safety
Public Safety is the combination of police protection and fire protection. All Ionia Public Safety officers have received police training, fire training, and medical first responder training.

Public Utilities
The City of Ionia Public Utilities Department oversees water supply, water distribution, and wastewater treatment operations. Our outstanding city staff is highly trained, and our facilities are regularly used for tours and training by the State of Michigan because of our commitment to excellence.

Public Works
The Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining over 26 miles of city streets. Crews work on and in the streets during all seasons to maintain their excellent condition. We also provide assistance to all City departments.
