Overview

The Local Development Finance Authority was established in accordance with Act 281 of 1986, as amended (superseded by Act 57 of 2018, as amended) to eliminate the conditions of unemployment, underemployment and joblessness and to promote economic growth in the City. The LDFA Development District encompasses the Orchard View Industrial Park.

The LDFA consists of seven members, four (4) of which are appointed by the Mayor, subject to approval by the City Council. The board includes one member appointed by the Ionia County Board of Commissioners and two members of the North LeValley School District, appointed by its Board of Education.*

*The North LeValley School Board has declined to appoint any board members.
